| Udhampur Cricket: Young Horse XI win by 40 runs | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, June 28: Fine bowling by Ravi Kumar helped Young Horse XI win the first round tie by 40 runs against Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) to enter the quarterfinals of ongoing District Udhampur Cricket Tournament under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sports Stadium, here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Young Horse made 176 runs losing all their wickets for 176 runs in 28 overs of the 30 overs game. In reply, Young Star bowled out for 136 runs in 27.5 overs.
Amit was top scorer with 19-ball 26 runs while Tony and Sandeep Sharma contributed 23 and 18 runs respectively. From Young Star, Rajeev clinched three wickets and Vikas bagged two.
Later, chasing the target, YSCC lost wicket on regular intervals and the whole side dismissed at a score of 136 in 27.5 overs. Anil and Ketan contributed 22 runs each, followed by Pardeep, who made 21. Ravi was most successful bowler from Young Horse, who clinched five wickets for 39 runs in 5.5 overs. Sahil bowled economical spell of two for 19 in six overs.
For his match winning innings of five wickets, Ravi Kumar was adjudged man of the match. Shekar and Rajinder Singh were umpires in today’s match while Rahul Gupta maintained the score.
