| Soz sanctions 21 lakhs for Kupwara | | | Early Times Report Srinagar,June 28: Former Union minister and President State Pradesh Congress Committee, Professor Saiffudin Soz on Sunday sanctioned twenty one lakh under various schemes for Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
A spokesman of the party in a statement to Press Bureau of India said that the MP sanctioned rupees eight lakh for providing additional accommodation to government Higher Secondary school Magam Handwara besides rupees 7 lakh for construction of Court Complex at Kupwara from his MP LAD fund.
Professor Soz also fulfilled his promise and visited Yadipora village at Haider Beigh Pattan along with concerned engineers, experts and sanctioned rupees 3.5 Lakhs for construction of Machine – drilled Tube Well which will be completed within two weeks.
Residents of Yadpora had gone on strike and blocked the highway against the extreme shortage of drinking water last week.
Professor Soz assured the people of the area that as a long term measure for providing drinking water to the entire area around Yadipora a scheme will be formulated at the earliest. He said that the scheme will be funded by the central Government under “Bharat Nirman Programme” at an estimated cost of rupees 2.5 crores, the statement to added.
