| 41 Special Athletes return amidst rousing caption | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 29- A contingent of 41special athletes, mentally challenged and intellectually disabled, were accorded warm reception today on their return after participating in a week long National Coaching Camp for BOCCE (An event of Special Olympics Sports / Game for male and female of 14 plus) at Amritsar. Receiving the Special athletes Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu S. Manohar Singh lauded the efforts of Special Olympics Bharat- J & K Chapter for this excel1ent beginning for such special chi1dren of the state. Appreciating the role of J & K Chapter and its management for exploring the hidden talent of intellectually challenged persons, SSP assured every possible support by J&K Police. Welcoming the Special Athletes, SOB J&K Chairman Ram Sahai appealed the well meaning people of the State to come forward to join this historic movement of which J&K became a part in November 2007. State President SOB J&K Dr. Ashvini Jojra expressed optimism that day is not far away when Special Athletes of the state would bring laurels to the State by winning Gold Medals in national and international special events. SSP Jammu also honored the Special Athletes and coaches with medals and also arranged packed lunch for all participants as a token of love and respect to special Athletes on behalf of J&K Police. He was accompanied by Randeep Kumar, SP North Jammu who also b1essed the participants.
