1809 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

SRINAGAR, JUNE 30 – Around 13,500 pilgrims performeddarshan at the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji yesterday. This included 5661 pilgrims who had reached the Holy Cave from the Baltal route and over 6100 Yatris via the Sheshnag-Panjtarni route.
While another batch of 3702 pilgrims left Baltal Base Camp for Yatra today, 2080 pilgrims commenced their Yatra on the traditional route from the Nunwan Base Camp early this morning.
A Spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board said that a batch of 1809 pilgrims also left Jammu today for the Nunwan and Baltal Base Camps.
It was further stated that Shri Madan Mantoo, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the SASB, returned to Srinagar last night after a two-day visit to the Holy Cave, Panjtarni and other Camps/locations enroute the Holy Cave Shrine. He reviewed the status of arrangements relating, interalia, to cleanliness and sanitation and emphasized upon all stakeholders including shops, tents and langars to support and strengthen the Board’s efforts to keep the areas in and around the Shrine neat and clean.
