| OGW arrested, 79 grenades recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu June 30 Security forces have arrested one over ground worker (OGW) of militants and recovered a huge quantity of arms and explosives, including 45 UBGL grenades, 10 RPG grenades and 25 hand grenades, during counter insurgency operations in past 24 hours in Jammu region, official sources today said. In a joint search operation in Bafliaz forests last evening, troops of 16 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police unearthed a militant hideout and recovered 45 UBGL grenades, 10 RPG grenades, 23 Chinese grenades, 12 RPG chargers, some PIKA ammunition and one AK-47 rifle, the sources said. A joint column of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Task Force (STF) of police apprehended a local OGW of militants at Jaura, five km from Thatri in the mountainous Kishtwar district of Jammu, an Army spokesman said. The OGW was identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain Butt, he said. Earlier in Ramban district, Rashtriya Rifles troops busted a militant hideout at Khurandar, four km from Banihal and recovered two Chinese grenade and one AK magazine, the spokesman added.
