Sharma requests Sonia Gandhi to help in enhancing state’s Haj quota

Srinagar, September 26 - Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma today talked to UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonnia Gandhi and requested her for using good office to enhance Haj seats to Jammu and Kashmir State for the current year so that all intended Haj pilgrims could be accommodated under the state Haj quota.
Pt. Sharma informed the UPA Chairperson that for having the Haj quota seats limited, lots have been drawn to select the Haj pilgrims out of the great number of intending persons who had applied for the same. Mr Sharma said that this has resulted in the dropouts and the people applied for have felt disappointed.
Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma told UPA Chairperson that Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad has already written to Dr. Manmohan Singh in this behalf requesting for enhancement of Haj quota to the state so that all those who have applied for Haj pilgrimage this year could be accommodated. Mr Sharma requested Mrs Sonia Gandhi to see that Jammu and Kashmir gets enhanced quota this year.
