JAMMU, June 30: Jakker Hussain of Jammu defeated wrestler Anil Kumar of Bholla Akhara Khanna in Punjab to win the main bout of worth Rs 2,100 cash prize in the Annual Fadya Kesari Dangal held at Middle School Fadya in district Reasi.
The second main bout went to Bobari of Shiv Mandir Akhara Jammu, who outplayed Sandeep of Haryana to receive a cash prize of Rs 1,500. Runners-up, Sandeep got Rs 1,000 from the organisers.
Third main bout, fought between wrestler Ranbir and Akram of Jammu, ended in a draw after 24 minutes of neck to neck contest in mud akhara. Both the wrestlers were given away Rs. 1,000 cash prize each. The fourth bout again ended in a draw between Attar Deen of Jammu and Sukh Dev of Khanna.
President, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and member State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runners-up. Sub-Inspector Reasi, Tilak Raj Sharma and Kaka Ram Sharma were guests of honour of dangal which was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in association with Fadya Dangal Committee.
In all, 53 bouts were played wherein local wrestlers hailing from Udhampur, Reasi, Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri as also those from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, J&K Police, Indian Army and BSF took part. Dangal was witnessed by a healthy crowd of locals and sports lovers from surrounding areas.
Members of organizing committee and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of dangal included Sham Lal (ex-Sarpanch), Bishan Dass, Rattan Lal, Suraj Din, Rehmat Ali, Gulam Hussian, Jagir Singh, Manjoor Hussian, Mohd. Fareed, Vijay Singh (Biju) and Piara Hussain.
Other Results:- Murad Ali bt Rakesh, Laket Ali bt Sujan Ali, Mulk Raj bt Kuldeep Singh, Baj Singh bt Kala, Kalu bt Rakesh, Billu bt Ram Saran, Sukh Dev bt Prem Verma, Nissan Ali bt Romesh, Neshu bt Vijay Singh, Murad Ali bt Baboo, Anwar bt Billu, Araf bt Mohd. Rafique, Vicky bt Pritam Singh, Naresh bt Mukesh, Karnail Singh bt Bittu, Alla Rakha bt Kirpal Singh, Rakesh bt Arjun, Jaaved Iqbal bt Jagdev, Billu bt Kuldeep Singh, Jamir Singh bt Bagga. Bouts between Bachan Singh and Kharapa and Dillar Khan and Kuldeep Singh ended in a draw.
