| Tirthi attains superannuation | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, June 30: Assistant Director of Sports Authority of India (SAI)-run Sports Training Centre (STC) at Udhampur, Bhupinder Singh Tirthi today attained the age of superannuation after rendering two and half decades of dedicated services. A kabaddi and kho-kho coach of the SAI, who rose to the level of Assistant Director thereby becoming the first incharge of state’s only STC, Tirthi has been instrumental in bringing SAI schemes to Jammu and Kashmir. On his retirement, a warm send-off was accorded to Tirthi by his colleagues and inmates of STC Udhampur. Chief Education Officer (CEO) Udhampur and his staff also extended a warm farewell to the retiring officer. JAMMU: In the meantime, his colleagues from SAI accorded him send-off at MA Stadium, Jammu by recalling his devotion towards sports and sportspersons. A dinner was hosted in his honour wherein coordinator SAI coaches in J&K, Mohinder Verma shared moments spend with Tirthi. Coaches of J&K State Sports Council, with whom Tirthi has worked during his stay as kabaddi and kho-kho coach in the state, wish him a healthy retirement life.
