| LONG WAIT OF ASPIRANTS FOR CONSTABLE POST | | LIST OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES NOT PUBLISHED SINCE 2004 | | Srinagar, Sept, 26, While the state government hardly misses any opportunity to 'convince' people about its employment generation plans and schemes, the aspirants for the posts of constable in the Auxiliary wing of J&K Police department –who had applied way back in 2003-04, are seeing a chasm between the words and deeds of the government. After applying for the constable posts advertised in year 2003-04 following which the aspirants passed the required physical tests in the month of July in 2004, but so far they say the list of successful candidates has not been short-listed. However, Inspector General Auxiliary Wing of J&K Police, Naveen Aggarwal says the list has been prepared and may become public any time. "Posts were advertised in 2003 and in July the next year our physical tests were conducted but more than two years down the line the list of successful candidates has not come out. We want to know our fate," said Abdul Rasheed, an aspirant hailing from Gund Nawroz, Anantnag. Quite in tune with the views of Rasheed, another aspirant Abdul Hameed from Qazigund area of South Kashmir Anantnag district said, "Justice delayed, as they say, is justice denied. We're not asking for charity. We just want to know why the list of successful candidates has not been made public in more than two year time." Annoyed over the wastage of time because of the delay in making public the list of selected candidates, some aspirants even fear they might cross the age bar and would not be able to apply for any government posts in future if the list is not published soon. Javed Ahmad from Kokarnag who passed the physical test in July 2004 said that the list of successful candidates for Indian Reserve Police was published in a record time but there has been unnecessary delay in the list of Auxiliary wing of Police department for reasons unknown. "Through Radio Kashmir's famous current affairs programme, 'Shaharbeen', we impressed upon the authorities about our predicament but still nothing came out," Javed told 'KIP'. Inspector General of Auxiliary wing of J&K Police, Naveen Aggarwal, when asked about his take on the matter told 'KIP': "Yeah, it is true the posts were advertised in 2003, and the tests were conducted in 2004. As of now, I can tell you the list of successful candidates has been prepared and may come out any time." Mr Aggarwal, however, refused to mention the exact time when the list may finally get public. |
