| IT raids premises of Jammu businessman | | |

Jammu, June 30: The sleuths of Income Tax department this afternoon raided residence and several business premises of a hotelier and leading businessman of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at seven business concerns and residence of Ashwani Gupta son of Kasturi Lal. First raid was reported at his residence in Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar and the IT sleuths seized banks records and other incriminating documents.
As per Income Tax source the Ashwani Gupta has been evading the tax for the last many years. Ashwani is the owner of the hotel JK Lounge in Gandhi Nagar. He is also owner of flour mills and rice mills situated in Udhampur, Sarore, Bishnah and Baribrahmna. In the two hours Income Tax raid conducted during early hours sleuths have seized all his bank records, credit cards, cash and jewellery. Sources also revealed that Ashwani’s monthly income has been touching to fifty lakhs and in spite of many notices he has been evading tax. He is also account holder of abroad banks.
