| VHP warns against cutting down yetra | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 30: The VHP today warned the Jammu and Kashmir authorities against curtailing the number of Amarnath yatris and said they should rather improve the Baltal cave route to the shrine. "If the authorities curtail the number of yatris going to the Amarnath shrine, it will have to face adverse consequence," National Secretary of VHP Kheem Chand Sharma said. The authorities should ensure that the number of yatris increases and for that widen and improve the Baltal-cave route, he said. He alleged that stopping the registration of yatris in state bank counters here indicates that the authorities want to curtail the number of pilgrims desirous of undertaking the Amarnath pilgrimage.
