| Pre-monsoon showers lash Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 30 : Much needed monsoon knocked the winter capital of the state, bringing respite to people from scorching heat wave coupled with scarcity of water and power cuts. Heavy dust storm was followed by rains lashed here last evening thus bringing down the day temperature by five to six degrees. Earlier in day time maximum temperature was recorded as 44.4 degree Celsius and minimum 32.2 degree Celsius while humidity at 45 levels. ''Beginning of pre-monsoon has not only brought respite from the scorching heat but also relived farmers,'' a local said. The shortfall in monsoon rain has raised the apparition of drought in most parts of region. However, this morning the sky was partly cloudy along with showers of rain and thunderstorm.
