| HC quashes PSA on 13 detunes | | Orders their immediate release | |
Srinagar, September 26 The State High Court here on Tuesday quashed public safety act slapped on 13 detunes and ordered their immediate release.
Details available indicate that cases of eight detunes facing charges of involvement in militant activities came up for hearing before the court of Justice Mansoor Ahmed. The appellants include Tariq Ahmed Malla S/O Assadullah Malla R/O Beerwa, Javed Ahmed Tantray S/O Ab Rahim R/O Eidgah Srinagar, Sheeraz Ahmed Bhat S/O Gh Mohd R/O Kulgam, Reyaz Ahmed Ganaie S/O Mohd Jabar R/O Dooru Anantnag, Gh Ahmed Teli S/O Ab Rehman Teli R/O Kulgam, Showkat Ahmed Jan S/O Ab Ahad R/O Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmed Palla S/O Ab Ghani R/O Kulgam and Mubashir Ahmed Shah S/O Ab Salam R/O Kulgam.
Meanwhile cases of Akhter Hussain Khan S/O Ab Salam Khan R/O Kulgam, Bilal Ahmed Ganaie S/O Mohd Akbar R/O Sopore, Zahoor Ahmed Parray S/O Ab Ahad R/O Sopore, Reyaz Ahmed Chopan and Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh came up for hearing before the court of Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakroo.
During the course of both the hearings, the learned judges quashed public safety act slapped on 13 detunes and ordered their immediate release. Advocate Mir Shafqat Hussain, Advocate G.N.Shaheen and Advocate B.A.Tak appeared on behalf of the detunes during the course of both the hearings. |
