| PDP anti peace, economic development: NC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: National Conference (NC) welcoming the initiatives of Union Home Minsiter, P Chidambaram and External Affairs Minister, M. Krishna regarding peace in J&K and good relations with Pakistan, lambasted upon PDP for its anti peace, economy and anti development attitude in the state. Rattan Lal Gupta, provincial president, J&K National Conference while addressing the media personnel at Jammu welcomed the statement of P. Chidambaram, Union Home Minister, in which he has welcomed the steps taken by Omar Abdullah, J&K Chief Minister replacing CRPF with J&K Police, as was earlier discussed by the state government with the union home minister during his recent visit to the state. The Provincial President also welcomed the statement of Union foreign minister, M. Krishna, in which he has stated that government of India is interested to have fresh dialogue with the Pakistan government to restore confidence among the people in both the countries, which was under constraint in the after math of Mumbai blasts. Gupta further added that it has been the endeavour of National Conference that people in both the countries should live in peace with mutual respect and dignity. Welcoming Kuldeep Raj Sharma, a prominent social and political activist, who contested assembly elections from Nagrota constituency in 2008, joined NC along with hundreds of his supporters today, Gupta said that National Conference conscious of its political and democratic responsibilities considers if its foremost responsibility to inform the people that once again PDP is afoot to ruin the peace, economy and development of the state. “Pained and frustrated by the defeat suffered in 2008 assembly elections, followed by the parliamentary elections, in which PDP got completely routed in the state, PDP in league with vested elements in the state is creating confusion among the people and hurdles in the smooth functioning of the government”, said Gupta and added that PDP instead of playing the role of consecutive opposition adopts negative politics, exploiting the sentiments of the people.
