| HC orders deferment of deportation of Mirpore resident | | | Jammu, September 26: The High Court on Tuesday ordered deferment of deportation of a resident of Mirpore of Pakistan Administered Kashmir. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that one Nawab-ud-Din, aged 107 years, migrated to Pakistan in 1965 and settled there, but did not marry, refuses to go back to Mirpore for the reasons that he has no one look after there in the final phase of his life. Nawab-ud-Din traveled to his ancestral village Budal in Rajouric district in the first bus that was run on Poonch-Rawlakote Road in August this year. Having a valid permit for 15 days, Nawab-ud-Din refused to go back, but Government had set September 26, the date for deporting him to Pakistan Administered Kashmir. However Nawab-ud-Din filed a suit before the court of justice J.P.Singh which came for hearing on Tuesday. Crying bitterly before the court, Nawab-ud-din said " Shot me dead, but don't push me back to other side of the line of control (LoC). I want to live with my neighbours. Who will perform my burial on the other side of line of control (LoC)". After hearing the pathetic condition of Nawab-ud-Din, Justice J.P.Singh ordered deferment of his proposed deportation. |
