| Yatra allowed to proceed today | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: After a day’s suspension following inclement weather in the Kashmir Himalayas the authorities have allowed the Amarnath pilgrims to proceed towards Kashmir on Sunday. The Amarnath yatra was on Saturday suspended from here due to snowfall in some places along the Pahalgam route to the cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas. The Amarnath Shrine Board had advised local authorities that the pilgrimage should not be allowed from Jammu in view of the bad weather. However, the yatra officer at Jammu told Early Times this evening that yatra has been allowed for tomorrow. Meanwhile, according to a Spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, 5684 Yatris performed darshan at the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji on Friday. The Spokesperson said that 2800 pilgrims left from the Baltal Base Camp and over 2000 from Nunwan Base Camp this morning on their journey to the Holy Cave Shrine. However, no Yatra was allowed from Jammu to the Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camps today. Meanwhile, the Shrine Board heli-lifted yet another critically ailing Yatri, Shri Sachin, son of Shri Rakesh, resident of Ludhiana, from Panjtarni to Baltal Base Camp Hospital yesterday. He was suffering from hyperthermia.
