| Triangular contest for Mahajan Sabha elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU JULY 5: Working Committee Members of Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS) are going to hold elections of President All India Mahajan Biradari in July 2009 at Haridwar where the working committee members from all over India are likely to participate in large number. Out of total 11 contesting candidates 8 candidates namely Yash Pal Gupta, Bal Krishan Gupta, Om Parkash Mahajan and Rajendra Motial all from Jammu and Surinder Mahajan from Amritsar, Sukhdev Mahajan from Delhi, Om Parkash Mahajan from Agra and Ram Murti Mahajan from Chandigarh have withdrawn from the contest. The first seven contestants have categorically declared that they are withdrawing their candidature in favour of Lala Dina Nath Mahajan of Gurdaspur who is a person of great integrity, dedication, benevolence, upright nature having all the qualities of head and heart. Another contestant Ram Murti has also decided to retire from the contest and has issued an appeal through Print Media that all the members should cast their vote as per their conscious to a person who has all the qualities and capacity to lead the Biradari towards the path of progress, brotherhood and harmony. With the development only 3 candidates remain in fray making the fight triangular. Jammu has a significant role in this election as it has the distinction of having large number of working committee members from in this province. Other cities which have quite a good number of members are Amritsar, Delhi, Agra, Chandigarh, Himachal, Ludhiana,' Jallandhar, Pathankot , Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Batala, Meerut, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and quite a few members from Rajasthan and Utter Pardesh. . Akhil Bhattiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha which has assumed a great importance in the recent years as during this period Mahajan Bhawan having 150 double bed sanitary fitted rooms with all the modern facilities has been constructed at Haridwar, besides many new units in many unrepresented parts of the country have been established, while other dormant units have been reactivated. About 20 Mahajan Halls in different cities, besides fully renovated Central head Office of the Sabhas have been constructed in the posh locality of South Delhi, office bearers informed.
