| Rotary club installs its new president Early times report | | | Early Times Report
Jammu July 5:
Rotary club of Jammu City held its Installation ceremony today to install the club’s new president Rtn.R.B Khajuria. The President was installed by the Chief Guest Distt. Governor Rtn. Er. K.C. kalra (PHE) The outgoing president Rtn Mehta Adeep Singh in his address highlighted the club activities during 2008-2009. Highlights of the activities were a project of water hand pump being installed at Nagrota, US $ 500 for school children of slum dwellers run by Rotary Community Corps “Swera”.A neo-natal equipment worth Rs. 2 lakh with incubator, phototherapy unit and suction equipment for the Govt Hospital Dansal and commitment of US $ 80,000 from an American Group Study Exchange Team for women Empowerment project at Vijay pur Area to be commissioned within one year. In the rotary area the club established two new Rotary Clubs; oneat Rajouri community Corps were made where NG’S were adopted club of Students and one interact club of Army School of Akhnoor were also established so that the children could be made part and parcel of the club humanitarian projects. The new president in his speech informed the house that the club is proposing to set up a Maternity Hospital at Nagrota and Rtn Balbir Singh Manhas will be rthe project director.
The club also gave away awards to its members for their services. Rtn Capt Murti Gupta, Balbir Singh Manhas, Ajay Gandorta, JP Singh (IPS). Robin Singh (KAS), rem Shankar Singh , Dr. Gaurav Vaid, Er. Gurdev Singh, KC Singh and others got the awards for their services in various fields.
