Parkash Divas’ celebrated at Digiana Ashram

Jammu, July 5:
The Birth anniversary of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj (Gurpurb) was celebrated today in all Gurdwaras. The main function was organised by D.G.P.C Jammu at Gurdwara Chathi Pathshai Talab Tillo Jammu in which thousands of Sikh devotees across the Jammu city and Gadi Garh, R.S.Pura, Chatha, Simbal Camp, Digiana, Ramgarh, Guru Nanak Nagar, Rehari, Trikuta Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Sainik Colony, Bakhshi Nagar, Gole Gujral and other surrounding areas also participated.
Besides the Local Ragi Jathas of DGPC Bhai Harpal Singh Ji from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar recited the Shabad Kirtan, Gyani Harbhajan Singh Maskeen from Amritsar was the main Parcharak in today's function who highlighted the history of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib who put two swords of Miri and Piri as the symbols of spiritual and power during his installation as 6th Guru. Guru Sahib also fought and won many battles against the regime of fundamentals and communal rulers like Jahangir Mughal King. Guru Hargobind Sahib also become Bandi Chhod Data when he got released from Gwalior Forte 52 Rajput Pahahi Raje who were detained by Jahangir. All D.G.P.C members Dalip Singh President, Mela Singh General Secretary, Attar Singh Cashier, Harbhajan Singh, Manjit Singh Secretary, Ranjit Singh and Avtar Singh were present in the function Guru-ka-Langar was also served among the devotees.
Meanwhile the ‘Parkash Divas’ of Guru Hargobind Ji Maharaj was celebrated at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram with full religious enthusiasm here today. Thousands of devotees participated in the function were ragies and preachers threw light on the life and history of Guru Ji stressed upon the Sikh Sangat to follow the path shown by Guru Ji for betterment, selfless service, love and equality towards the humanity.
Mahant, Manjit Singh of Shriomani Dara Nangali Sahib (Poonch) participated at Chatti Patshi Gurdwara at Rainawari Srinagar (Kashmir). The main function at the state level was organized at historical place of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
Many prominent religious personalities participated and spoke on this occasion including Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kanaya Niscam Seva Society, Paramjeet Singh President AISSF, Harjiet Singh Kartar, Dharminder Singh Bhargav, Harbans Kour president Sikh Istari Sudhar Sabha. The resolutions were also passed on this occasion and stressed upon the chief minister Omar Abdullah for the permanent solution and settlement of refugees of 1947 POK, appointment of a Sikh as High Court Judge, employment of unemployed Sikh Youths, implementation of Punjabi language in the schools. The Sikh demanded early implementation of the demands otherwise the community will launch strong agitation.
