| MANUU hold debate, organizes valedictory function | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 5: A valedictory function of B.Ed (DM) students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) was organized at Jammu. A debate on the topic ‘Teachers only can make the Destiny of a Nation’ was organized in which students presented their views. Prof K R Iqbal Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, MANUU was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Dharshana Sharma, coordinator, B.Ed Programmes, DDE, JU presided over the function and Dr Nalni Kohli, Principal, Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was the Guest of Honor. In his welcoming address, Dr Abdul Ghani, Assistant Regional Director, MANUU Sub Regional Office Jammu threw light on the performance and advancement of the University. He said the development and growth, which the University has achieved in a little period of time, makes it distinct and matchless. Dr Dharshana Sharma and Dr Nalni Kohli appreciated MANUU for its services for the cause of education. Prof K R Iqbal Ahmed in his address said that MANUU’s advancement in the field of education is remarkable and in a very short span of time it has its Centres in abroad too in addition to its thousand of Study Centres in the country imparting education to lakh of students. He also assured the audience to establish a Regional Campus of the University in this state. Students presented mementos to the Vice Chancellor; they appealed the Vice Chancellor to increase the intake capacity of B.Ed admission in the region from present 100 seats to 200 seats.
