JAMMU, JULY 5: Alleging ignorance of twin districts Rajouri Poonch, senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan has said that the State Government seemed to have abandoned the region leaving people to their own destiny. Addressing media persons Khan called upon the state government to clarify to the people of neglected twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch as who they should approach for their development, welfare and security.
He said that the people of Rajouri and Poonch are caught in a multitude of problems ranging from draught like situation to acute food scarcity, water, electricity and the elected representatives belonging to National Conference and Congress are shuttling between Jammu, New Delhi and Srinagar to secure ministerial berths.
He alleged local MLAs belonging to the ruling party are not attending to grievances of people as they are chasing their ministerial dreams, the local administration is not paying any heeds to the pleas of opposition leaders. He pointed out that there is a complete functional anarchy in the region. He said that people are keen to see promotion of tourism in the region and therefore they are willing to remove all obstacles which are coming in the way economic empowerment of the region. He appealed the government to give due attention to neglected district Poonch and Rajouri for overall development.
