| 10th martyrdom of Saheed Dev Raj Sharma observed | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 5: Glorious tributes were paid in memory of martyr Dev Raj Sharma on his 10th martyrdom day at Chak Baja here today. MLC, Rajinder Singh Chib who was the chief guest on the occasion while paying tributes to Saheed Devraj said, the role played by security forces in crushing militancy in J&K will never be forgotten. He said, it was on this day that Devraj sacrificed his life at Tiger Hill (Kargil) during operation Vijay, and his sacrifice will be written in Golden letters and will inspire the youth of the country and state in particular to defend the country against the nefarious design of enemy. Referring to the demand of demilitarization and revoking of Arms special powers act by some political persons he said that he was confident that the government will decide on this issue after a complete and comprehensive assessment of the latest ground situations in different parts of the state. Chib expressed his confidence that the present leadership in Delhi is wise enough to assess the correct situation and the decision taken by them will positively be in the interest of the security of the state and welfare of the people. Others who paid tributes to Shaheed Dev Raj include Romesh Chandra, Ch. Jasbir Singh Lucky, Capt. Janak Singh, Ch. Jeet Lal, S. Balwinder Singh, Bhagat Sham Lal all Sarpanches, Ch. Mohinder Singh, Sub-Waryam Singh, Capt Kashmir Singh, Nirmala Devi wife of the martyr alongwith the family members attended the function and paid tributes to Shaheed.
