Jammu, JULY 6 : Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. BL Bhat framed corruption charges against Krishan Chand then posted as Accountant in the Range Office Excise& Taxation Kathua and Rakesh Kumar Mehra then cashier of the same office who was caught red-handed by the VOJ and recovered Rs 10,000 which was received by the cashier from the complainant for settling the pensionary benefits of the complainant’s father.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu BL Bhat after hearing CPO Purshtom Sharma appearing for the State Vigilance Organization after considering the facts of the case produced by the VOJ observed that in the month of May 2007 while accused Krishan Chand posted as Accountant and co-accused Rakesh Kumar Mehra cashier posted in the officer Range Office Excise & Taxation Kathua on a complaint of one Sushil Kumar for disbursement of retirement benefits in favour of his father Baldev Raj demanded Rs 15000 as illegal gratification but accused Rakesh Kumar Mehra agreed to accept illegal gratification of Rs 10,000 and accepted Rs 10,000 from the complainant on May 8, 2007 which was recovered from his possession during the trap laid by VOJ and the charges u/s 5(1) (d) 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act 2006 BK and section 120-B and 161 RPC farmed against both the accused persons.
