| NI forum welcome ban on polythene | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 6: The Nationalistic Intellectual (NI) forum in a meeting held under the presidentship of Gagan Basotra, where in all the members of the forum expressed their gratitude and thanks to the state govt. for imposing blanket ban on the use of polythene bags in the state. Basotra said it was the right step in the right direction for preventing environmental degradation and to preserve the scenic beauty of hilly state. Members in the meeting expressed thanks to the minister for PHE and Irrigation Taj Mohi-ud-Din for construction of the artificial Tawi River Lake which was demand by the members of the forum when the nationalistic intellectual forum felicitated MP Madan Lal Sharma who had assured the members that the said demand would be fulfilled shortly. The members also expressed concern over the unprecedented power crisis in the rural areas of Jammu province where the power shut down in sultry heat was more than 12 hours. It was also resolved by the members to appeal to the government to frame rules and guidelines for fixing the fee structure of students in private education institutions including Army/Air-Force Public Schools so that the right of the education as enshrined in the J&K State Constitution is implemented in letter and spirit. The prominent members who also attended the meeting included Sachin Gupta, Balwinder Singh, Randeep Singh, Shailendra Aima, Mandeep Singh, Ashok Arora, Jaspinder Singh, Vishal Bharti, Anil Sharma, Mohd. Amin, Zishan Ahmad Chohan and Vinay Basotra.
