| JU, DELNET to organize NACLIN-06 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | SEPT 26
DELNET- Developing Library Network in collaboration with the Department of Library Science and Dhanvantri Library, Jammu University (JU) is organizing ninth National Conference on Knowledge, Library and Information Networking- NACLIN 2006 from September 27- 30, 2006 at JU. DELNET is a major resource sharing library network in South Asia, which connects more than 1020 libraries in 30 states in India and its UT's and six other countries. DELNET provides access to more than sixty-five lakh records of books, journal articles. The inter-library loan and document delivery services are one of the most popular services provided to the researchers, scholars and students of the member libraries within and outside the country. Briefing the media about NACLIN 2006, Dr. H K Kaul, Director DELNET told that the theme of NACLIN 2006 is "Roadmap for Modernization of Library and Information Centres in the Emerging Knowledge Society". He further told that Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Vice-Chancellor JU.Dr, would inaugurate the conference on September 27th, 2006. Harish Chandra, Librarian, IIT Madras is invited as special guest. Prof. And HoD Library Science is the organizing secretary of the NACLIN 2006. A number of eminent experts from the field of Library and Information Science are invited for the conference. The technology exhibition is also being organized where in the major national and international companies specializing in the library related IT products will demonstrating their products.
