Master trainers' training begins

JAMMU | SEPT 26

Dr. Kailash Kohli, Dy. Director Health Services, Jammu today inaugurated a Master Trainers Training Programme (MTTP) in Integrated Nutrition Education Extension (INEE) at Rehbar-e-Sehat Institute, GMC Complex for the officers of ICDS/ Social Welfare Deptt and Education Deptt. The department of Women and Child Development is organizing this programme to prepare extension educators / trainers for field functionaries of various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kohli emphasized on the field functionaries to dedicate their services for the downtrodden and poor people. He also highlighted the importance of the nutrition for the females and child. In his address, Nutrition Expert A K Braroo said that malnourishment and infestation are closely related and children under five are highly vulnerable along with the pregnant mothers. He informed that over 300 million people are suffering from micro nutrient deficiency apart from chronic deficiencies.
