| DC Kathua inaugurates ‘Sahyog India’s’ screening drive | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, July 7: With a motive to provide essential services and designed facilities to persons with disabilities i.e. mentally challenged, hearing impaired, deaf, visually impaired blind, cerebral palsy/ locomotors disabled, orthopedically and multiple disabled for their rehabilitation and make them to lead a dignified life, social organisation Sahyog India committed for their welfare, launched a screening drive in kathua district to conduct door to door survey in phase manner.
Dy. Commissioner Kathua Mandeep Kour inaugurated the screening drive by enlightening the lamp that this light will certainly enlighted the dusky ways of needs and target groups. In her augural address Kour lauded the role of Sahyog India and the commitments for which the organization is known said “I wish this drive a great success with marvelous results which shall certainly prove a boon for the persons with disabilities and the survey will also facilitate the district administration for polity-planning and implementation of welfare schemes”. Today it is a beginning in distt. Kathua, and I delighted to know that just after survey Sahyog India is starting a counseling centre and rehabilitation institute for persons with disabilities and free services for orphan, poor and needy.
Founder president, Sahyog India Ashvini Jojra appraised the Dy. Commissioner that Sahyog India is launching such programmes in the district to make this drive a mass movement to aware the persons with disabilities, their wards and common citizens regarding their problems. The organization is bridging the gap between the govt. and persons with disabilities by bringing them closer to the welfare schemes launched by govt.
While presenting vote of thanks Mahesh Kinth, Secretary Sahyog India disclosed that this process is going on in district Jammu successfully & the organization is planning to expand these activities in other districts on the same grounds.
