| Shastri: Enhance income tax limit-upto Rs 3Lakh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 7: The president of the national mazdoor conference (NMC) Subash Shastri, has appealed to the union finance minister to enhance the income tax exemption limit upto Rs. Three lakhs to provide relief to the salaried class in view of steep rise in prices of essential commodities.
Reacting to the budget proposals Shastri said that Rs. One lakh and sixty thousand income tax exemption limit envisaged in the budget wil not provide any relief to the fix income group.
He urged upon the minister to provide a special financial package of Rs. Eight thousand crore for fully funding to J&K state so that beside providing all benefits of the 6th pay commission to the state government employees and pensioners as well as payment of arrears on account of pay revision.
