With today’s win, SGRC became the second team to qualify for the semi-finals stages. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, SGRC set a target of 218 runs in the allotted 30 overs, which, in reply, Special Wards Club could not chase and exhausted their quota of 30 overs for 154 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Varun was top scorer from SGRC with 35 runs while Ram contributed 25-ball 27 runs. Rocky also played superb innings of 28 (off 22 balls) runs. From Special Wards, Dinesh clinched three wickets for 37 runs in six overs. Rahul also bowled equally good spell and took two wickets for 25 runs in six overs. Later, chasing a target of over seven-run per over, Special Wards could not maintain the required run rate and completed the allotted 30 overs for 154 runs losing nine wickets. Rahul played nicely and kept the one end intact but lack of support from other incoming batsmen, he could not make his side win. Rahul remained unbeaten at 72 comings off 82 balls.
