JAMMU, July 07: The All India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its meeting held at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk in Chennai today selected the 16-member squad to represent India in the `Emerging Players’ Tournament to be played in Australia in July-August 2009.
Young Virat Kohli has been named deputy skipper while Wriddhiman Saha and Naman Ojha guard behind the stumps, a BCCI communiqué received here today informed.
THE TEAM: S Badrinath (captain), Virat Kohli (vice-captain), M Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Ishant Jaggi, Abhishek Nayar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh, R. Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), Naman Ojha (wicket-keeper), Pankaj Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Pradeep Sangwan and Sudeep Tyagi.
