| 51 trucks cross sides as LoC continues trade | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 7: As many as 51 truck loads of merchandise crossed sides along the line of control in uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, offices said. Officials at Trade Facilitating Centre, Salamabad Uri said that while 25 trucks left for Pakistan administered Kashmir, 26 truck loads reached here. He said that the onion, coconuts and potato formed the major junk of the good to be dispatched to the Pak while the merchandise from Pakistan has 98 percent of Moong. In wake of the strike in Valley last week following the killings in Baramulla and Sopore, only two truck loads could make it to the weekly LoC trade from here while 29 trucks were received from the Pak. Meanwhile, the probe headed by divisional commissioner Kashmir, Masud Samoon into the alleged violation of Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) at Salamabad would be submitted to the government on time, sources said. Government has accorded sanction to the appointment of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir as the Inquiry Officer to conduct enquiry into the complaints regarding alleged violation of SOP regulating the cross-LoC trade on June 11 and the Inquiry officer was asked to submit report to the government within a period of one month from the date of issue of the order.
