| Eight killed in NH mishap | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 7: In yet another ghastly mishap, eight persons were killed on the spot today when an oil tanker rolled down into a deep gorge on Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Chanderkote a mid point between Batote and Ramban about 130 kms from winter capital of the state. Giving details of accident Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Mubassir Latiffi who was heading the operation told that eight people, including the driver and the conductor traveling in this truck on their way to Srinagar from Jammu died on spot when the vehicle skidded off from the main highway and rolled down into the deep gorge at Chanderkote here today at about 11.40 am. ‘The truck rolled down too deep which even made evacuation operation much difficult, however after strenuous efforts of hrs all the eight bodies have been recovered,’ SP Latiffi, said.
