| CM had endorsed our stand: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu July 8: BJP has been repeatedly protesting against the idea of withdrawal of CRPF and Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) from the state and BJP leadership has termed the Chief Minister’s recent statement about the reversal of para military troops as an endorsement to BJP’s stand. BJP has asserted time and again that JK Police is not up to the mark in number, as well as in training, which can deal militancy in other words proxy war initiated by Pakistan, said BJP State spokesperson Ramesh Arora (Adv.). He said party is in view that the situation in the state will further deteriorate if the AFSPA is withdrawn, which gives special immunity to armed forces from action taken in good faith while dealing with militancy and capturing arms and ammunition. As prior permission is required from the Union government in case any one wants to prosecute them. Mr Arora said that ultimately Omar Abdullah have now endorsed the view point of BJP and said at Delhi yesterday, that 70 battalions of CRPF cannot be withdrawn immediately as local state police is not so efficient to deal militancy relating problems and even state police has not been trained for the purpose. Chief Minister also endorsed the stand of BJP for not abolishing the AFSPA. He however targeted Omar Abdullah saying he is confused takes different stands while at Srinagar, Jammu and New Delhi. BJP spokesperson condemned the killing of two women in Shoipan and also regretted the manner Hurriyat and PDP reacted to the issue to gain political mileage. It was only to disturb the peace and create law and order problem by so-called J&K leaders like Geelani and Mehbooba Mufti. Government should deal it strictly, he said.
