| 10 ITIs to become centres of excellence | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July 8: With an aim to get skilled and trained human resources from within the state, the National Conference led coalition Government has decided to strengthen the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state and made it industry and market oriented.
Official sources said that for achieving the goal, the government has identified 10 ITIs were being upgraded into centres of excellence under the World Bank Sponsored Vocational Training Improvement Project.
Aprty from this, other 27 ITIs are to be upgraded under Public private partnership mode and some women specific trades were to be introduced in a some ITIs in the state enabling young women to set up their own ventures or get absorbed in the work force in a productive manner.
