| INIFD students return from intership training | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 8: The 3rd year students of fashions, textiles and interiors design departments of INIFD other successfully completing of their two months industrial training in various fashion houses, export houses, architects and designers in cities like Ludhiana, Okhla and Noida, returned back here yesterday. Industrial training has been an eye opener for all as being practical training said Avantika Kotwal who did her summer training from a Noida based export house. “Bottom Up” where she, Tina Jasrotia and Neha Mahajan created samples for a buyer called “Natura” of Spain while Ambika Ganjoo, Ruchika Chand and Harpreet Kour did their training as merchandisers in “Jyoty Apparels” at Okhla. During time spent in the production department, students were introduced to procedures like cutting, ticketing bundling, issuing and checking of garments on a very high scale like more that 40,000 pieces of one design. Another student Rajni worked at “Duke” Ludhiana, where she got an insight to knitwears manufacturing and Pooja and “Super Fine a Mini Kings” Ludhiana where she looked into the details of kids garments. Interior students Vickey Kaw worked under architect Bharat Bhushan and worked at the site of restoration of Mubarak Mandi project. Surinder Jamwal a student from Udhampur worked with architect Manoj Gupta on couple of residential projects at Udhampur. Meera Soni and Sania Gupta worked with Architect Rakesh Gupta on residential projects. Congratulating the students chairperson Vanita Thakur said that such internships narrows the bridge between theoretical and practical world and widens the horizons and exposes the students to the industrial world. She also congratulated Tina Jasrotia, Mamta and Neha Mahajan for their placements at various organizations.
