| Promotion in dental college | | HC modifies order | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY, 9: Justice Nirmal Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing modified the order of dated December 28, 2007 to the extent that in case the State wants to make promotion on temporary/adhoc basis to the posts of Associate Professor/Professor/ Principal, they shall do strictly in accordance with the rules. State will promote/ appoint only those persons who are eligible to hold the posts and fall in the zone of consideration. This direction has been passed in a petition filed by Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone in which the High Court vide order December 28, 2007 the state was restrained not to promote any person except on regular basis after holding DPC according to the rule. It was further directed that in case DPC is held the petitioner may be also considered for promotion along with all eligible persons. The state respondents have moved an application for modification of the aforementioned order to the extent that they may be allowed to make temporary/adhoc promotion to the posts of Associate Professor/Professor/ Principal in Government Dental College Jammu till DPC is held. Justice Nirmal Singh after referring the rules of Jammu & Kashmir Dental Education (Dental College) Gazetted Service Recruitment Rules 1993 and modified the order dated December 28, 2007. JNF
