Early Times Report Jammu, Jul 9 Afresh batch of 1652 pilgrims today left for Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas, an official spokesman said. Amid tight security cover, another batch of 1652 pilgrims including 332 women, 36 children and 72 Sadhus in a convoy of 49 vehicles, including 30 State Road Transport Corporation buses, five private buses and 14 LMVs left Yatrai Bhawan here for Amarnath shrine at 0510 hrs, the spokesman added. Two-month-long Amarnath pilgrimage started from shorter Baltal route on June 15, after a week's delay from the actual schedule, while the traditional Pahalgam-Chandanwari route was opened for the Yatris on June 26.
