| Rs 3 lakh hawala money recovered in Ramban | | | Early Times Report Ramban, July 09: Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have busted a Hawala racket and arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Lashkar-e-Toiba who according to police was operating in the district; cash of rupees two lakh ninety thousand was recovered from his possession. Police spokesman claimed that Ramban Police achieved a major success by arresting an Over Ground Worker of LeT militant organizations operating in the district and recovered an amount of Rs. 2, 90,000/- (Rupees Two Lac Ninety thousand) Hawala Money from his possession. The OGW according to police has been identified as Roshan Din son of Mohd Yousuf Chand resident of Cherwari (Trigam), Banihal who had brought money from Kashmir Valley and had to hand it over to his master Abu Musa, District Commander of Lashkar -e-Tobia for carrying out subversive activities. He was arrested alongiwth the Hawala money at a special Police Check Point established by SDPO Banihal and SHO Banihal near Jawahar Tunnel when he was traveling in Tata Sumo (JK03B/1256). A case FIR No. 131/09 under sections 17, 21 and 40 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, has been registered in Police Station Banihal and investigation is in progress. The interrogation of this sympathizer and courier is likely to give more leads about the militant network in the District.
