| NCC to organize special national integration camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 9: An All India Special Integration Camp will be organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at 257 Transit Camp, Leh, from 11 Jul to 22 Jul 2009. Brig Anil Gupta, Deputy Director General NCC disclosed that the 12 day Special National Integration Camp is being conducted by NCC Group, Srinagar, under the aegis of NCC Directorate, J&K for a total of 170 cadets and 30 NCC officers and staff representing all States. Camp is scheduled to be conducted in three stages with induction from New Delhi by chartered flight, the main camp at Leh and de-induction by road from Leh to Chandigarh via Upshi-Manali. The aim of the camp is to provide an opportunity to cadets to get an insight into Ladakh region. The land of Endless Discovery` and familiarize the cadets with its history, heritage, secular culture thus fostering the sprit of national integration and solidarity. The theme of the camp is “Julley Yeh Dil Maange More” depicting warm disposition of the people of Ladakh despite vagaries of rugged terrain and inhospitable climatic condition and the characteristic of Ladakh which has so much to offer that one always yearns for more.
