| Miliband statement about Kmr is interference in sovereignty of India: BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu July 10 Bhartiya Janta Party has condemned the statement made by David Miliband, the British Foreign Minister saying Kashmir people should be taken into confidence and their sentiments must be considered by India and Pakistan while settling Kashmir dispute. Addressing a press conference here this morning Ashok Khajuria said, “This type of stand amounts to interference in the sovereignty of a country.’ He however asked similar elements to refrain from such venture saying the British government should take care of its own affairs and not poke nose in others affairs. ‘The BJP wants to make it clear to the UK government that ours is a super power country and self-sufficient to tackle any situation, he underlined. Further adding he said that first prime minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru too had committed a historical blunder by referring dispute of J&K to United Nations Organization (UNO) and the party always opposed. Ashok Khajuria also mentioned that while inking the Shimla Agreement this mistake was corrected when a declaration was signed by both the countries that it is bilateral issue and will be resolved without intervention of any third force. ‘Even the Parliament of India has already passed a resolution specifying the dispute between India and Pakistan in 1994 when it was specifically said that "the dispute between India and Pakistan is only dispute with regard to Pak occupied Kashmir which India wants back,’ he added Hence, BJP is committed to the resolution of the Parliament and appeal the Central government to take effective steps to get the resolution implemented. Meanwhile referring to the statement from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari that they supported militants for some tactical gains, the BJP leader reiterated party stand that Pakistan should be declared a Terrorist state in view of confession made by none other than the Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari. Commenting on the coalition regime, he said present government has proved an incompetent government and is lacking any definite policy to deal with the militants and militancy. He added Kashmir-centric leaders are in habit of taking one stand on Kashmir to appease the fundamentalists and change the same while in Jammu and New Delhi and the same has been observed in the working of present regime headed by chief minister Omar Abdullah. “This government is demoralizing the forces by changing stand after stand with regard to their utility in the state. Role of CRPF and other armed forces cannot be undermined and ignored. Khajuria made it clear that any effort to withdraw Armed Forces Special Powers Act will not be tolerated.
