Early Times Report Jammu, July 10: All is set for expansion of six-month old Omar Abdullah led coalition ministry of the National Conference and the Congress but the Ministers in waiting are yet to be made ‘very sure’ about their elevation tomorrow afternoon. The cabinet expansion with 13 to 15 new faces is slated for Saturday at 4 PM at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center along the banks of Dal Lake. Governor NN Vohra will administer oath to new members of the Council of Ministers which has only ten members so far and its maximum capacity is 25. Late night reports suggested that the Chief Minister may keep two seats vacant for another expansion in future. Sources said that that cabinet expansion will be followed by a meeting of the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Though its was reported to be a routine and introductory meeting after taking new Ministers on board but the sources maintained that some top level transfers and postings in the administration in tomorrow’s cabinet meeting were not ruled out. Even though Early Times had access to the list of members to be inducted in Ministry tomorrow but none of the aspirants could confirm if they have been specifically invited to take oath. Sources said that all members of the Legislative Assembly and the Council have been advised to remain stationed at Srinagar on Saturday. However, towards late Friday evening many confirmed that they have got the call for tomorrow’s swearing in. The Jammu and Kashmir’s Council of Ministers has a maximum intake capacity of 25 members and ten vacancies including the Chief Minister have already been filled in. while both coalition partners, the National Conference and the Congress, have worked out a list of 15 legislators to be sworn in tomorrow, but sources said late tonight that two seats may be kept vacant for another expansion in near future. As per a list of 15 members, the Congress is getting a major share of eight Ministers and the National Conference will have seven new Ministers. Peoples Democratic Forum chairman Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and Democratic Party president Ghulam Hassan Mir are, finally, reported to have been cleared by the Congress for their swearing in as Cabinet Ministers in its quota. From National Conference, Handwara Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan from Handwara, Sakina Itto from Noorabad and Qamar Ali Akhoon from Kargil are expected to be sworn in as Cabinet Ministers. First time MLAs Javed Dar from Rafiabad, Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami) from Amirakadal alongwith Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo from Kishtwar and Agha Roohullah from Badgam are expected to be sworn in as Ministers of State. From Congress camp, besides Hakeem Yaseen and Hassan Mir as associate members, Raman Bhalla, Choudhary Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Sharief Niaz are expected to be sworn in as Cabinet Ministers. Ajaz Ahmed Khan from Gool Arnas, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma from Billawar and Shabir Ahmed Khan from Rajouri are expected to be the Ministers of State.
