| Coalition regime failed to solve basic problems of common masses: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 11: Expressing concern over increasing miseries of the common masses due to the wrong policies being adopted by Congress-National Conference coalition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today observed that six month period of regime was complete failure. Addressing a meeting of the zonal president and other senior workers of party at Jammu, PDP leaders called upon the cadre to take message of the party in every part of this region. Terming the Congress-National Conference regime as total failure on all fronts, party general secretary Thakur Balbir Singh exhorted the party workers to expose misdeeds of this coalition before the masses. He also reiterated commitment of the party to fill the political vacuum created after opportunist alliance between Congress and NC. He said that Congress-National Conference coalition has been functioning without any programme and policies which has simply increased miseries of the masses but has failed to anything to resolve problems of the masses. PDP general secretary also reminded the people that poll times promises assured by NC which include recruitment of 8th pass youth in the police, stipend to educated unemployed youths, and others but now after coming to power the NC has maintained a criminal silence on its poll time promises made to people of state. “Except promises NC has done nothing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and reminded that during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed many revolutionary steps were taken for the development of all regions and sub-regions. Party secretary and MLA Sayed Asgar Ali said that PDP would aggressively take up the issues related to the common masses and party would not hesitate to take some extreme step to control the coalition. Highlighting achievements of the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, he said that it was during PDP regime that developmental activities were accelerated and all regions and sub-regions were treated equally. He said that during the last six months National Conference-Congress coalition regime has failed to solve problems of the masses.
