Early Times Report
Jammu July 13: Criticizing the State CM Omar Abdullah’s statement "NC torch bearer of martyr’s principles", BJP State president Ashok Khajuria said that such a statement has hurt the sentiments of the nationalist forces in the state.
State BJP president said, ‘It will only promote the cause of the separatists and encourage the anti-national elements.’
In a press statement Khajuria categorically said that such a statement by none other than the State Chief Minister is also an indication of the soft approach of the government towards all such elements who indulge in creating wedge between the Hindus and Muslims of the state and who have been causing communal tension.’
BJP leader reminded the chief minister that the so-called martyrs were the people with the communal mindset who were responsible for committing atrocities on innocent, peace loving Kashmiri Hindus and causing damage to their properties as they were in minority in the valley. The CM should explain as to why a person, who creates law and order problem and spread communal hatred is a martyr? The principles of martyr’s are to work for social harmony and sacrifice for unity and integrity of the country.
He also said the NC may have compulsions to observe the 13 July as Martyr’s Day in order to appease a particular section of the society in the valley but the silent on part of the Congress is a crime. ‘It is most unfortunate that the Congress has not uttered even a single word over observance of July 13 as Martyr’s Day and declaring the day as state holiday. It is high time that the Congress give up its lust for power and exhibit some regard for the nationalist segments of the society. Being a national party also and proclaiming of having national outlook, it should oppose vehemently such anti-national jubilations and not meekly submit to the blandishments of the NC, he said.
