| Three trucks of Adulterated Desi Ghee seized | | |

Jammu, July 14: In its continuous drive against the adulterated food items, Jammu Police today arrested two persons namely Naresh Kumar S/o Late Parmanand R/o Village Datyal Tehsil Akhnoor A/p Shiv Nagar Dumana and Tarsem Lal Sharma S/o Vij Nath Sharma R/o Patoli Brahmana Jammu. Three truck loads of adulterated ghee was recovered from their possession. The adulterated ghee was packed in the packing of well known brands like Kohinoor, Anmol, Nova, Murli, Kuber, Paramhans etc. The adulterated desi ghee was purchased by the accused persons from Delhi through a middleman. The ghee recovered was meant for supplying to district Rajouri, Poonch and other local areas. In this connection a case FIR No. 182/09 U/s 420 RPC, 3/7 EC Act was registered at Police Station Dumana and further investigation is going on.
It may not be out of place to mention here that 25 tins of adulterated desi ghee was also recovered by Police Station RS Pura on 28th June, 2009. Case FIR No. 95/09 U/s 270, 271, 272, 420 RPC was registered at PS RS Pura.
