Early Times Report Srinagar, July 14: Amid reports that disgruntled senior Congress leader, Choudhary Muhammad Aslam, was likely to be appointed as president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, the party leaders Tuesday expressed solidarity with the incumbent president, Saiffudin Soz. Sources told a meeting of congress leaders, participated besides others by Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, Bashir Ahmad Magray, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Abduul Majid Padder, and others including PCC office bearers, district presidents, Frontal organizations chief, was held at party headquarters here on Tuesday. They said that the leaders expressed gratitude to president congress and chairperson of United Progressive Alliance, Sonia Gandhi for giving representation to all regions and communities in the newly expanded ministry in the state. “The leaders also expressed solidarity with Prof Saiffudin soz (President JKPCC) for his efforts to strengthen congress in the state,” they said, adding, “Under his presence, coalition government would become stronger.” Pertinently, Choudary Aslam resigned as Congress legislature party leader, two hours after state’s council of ministers was expanded by Omar Abdullah on Saturday.
