| Saroori reviews R&B; rural road projects worth Rs 1200 Cr underway | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, JULY 14 – Minister for Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering, Mr. G. M. Saroori assumed charge of his ministry, here today. Talking to media-persons, Mr. Saroori said priority of his ministry would be to complete all projects which are incomplete for want of compensation to be paid to landowners. He said Rs. 1,200 crore are being spent under PMGSY on construction and up-gradation of roads in the State. Reiterating the resolve of the government to provide accountable and transparent administration, Mr. Saroori said all efforts would be made to provide an able government that delivers on all fronts. He said various projects have been initiated to connect remote and far-flung areas of the State, especially with district headquarters. The Minister asked respective authorities to speed up pace of work and complete all projects within the stipulated timeframe, adding government would not compromise with quality of work and material used in construction works. He asked people to extend full cooperation to the government in completing ongoing projects. The Minister said double shift work culture would be revived to ensure speedy completion of projects in view of the weather conditions in the State.
