Christian’s demands representation in upper house

Jammu, July 14: Appreciating the clean and smooth functioning of Omar Abdullah’s administration Christian biradari has urged upon the chief minister to nominate a person of the community to upper house, as till date no member from Christians has been given any representation either is assembly, government etc forum.
As per press release like other communities Christians of the state also need encouragement, which is otherwise downtrodden in J&K beside is also educationally, socially and economically backward. Last time community had two members and at present Christian are totally ignored even Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs each have one member in the legislature. They said at present a seat lie vacant in upper house, as Dr. Mehmood Beg has elected as member parliament and a Christians be elected for the same.
