Jammu, July 15: BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, today led a protest against the acute shortage of drinking water in the walled city and broke the pitchers to registers their protest at Purani Mandi.
Local residents from Purani Mandi, Afghana Mohalla, Chowk Chabutra, Mohalla Paharian, Pacca Danga, Kali Janni, Khilonewali Gali, Kachi Chawni, Parade and Raj Tilak Road who were facing problems due to acute shortage of potable water participated in this protest demonstration against the PHE department.
Led by BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, they were raising slogans against the departments and the concerned minister Taj-Mohi-ud-Din- and demanded early procurement of water to the said localities. The protestors were raising slogans ‘Paani do Paani Do, Yaa Gaddi Shod Do" (Supply regular water or quit) the protestors broke the earthen pots to register their resentment.
Yudhvir Sethi, while speaking on the occasion, said that the people of Jammu city are not getting regular supply of drinking water in this scorching heat in Jammu region. Ramnik Gupta, Anil Masoom, Ashok Gupta, Vikrant Singh, Bittu Pradhan, Geega, Kapil Mahajan, Sanju, Ajay Gupta and Parvesh Kumar were prominent among those who took part in the protest demonstration
