| MD JKPCC fired for giving wrong information to CM | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, JULY 15: For giving wrong information regarding completion of auditorium of Srinagar Dental College at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah on July 9, 2009 Managing Director (MD), JKPCC, Mr. Dalip Thusoo has been attached. The MD in the said meeting has informed that auditorium complex of the Government Dental College, Srinagar, is complete in all respects barring installation of audio visual equipment. The Chief Minister today paid a surprise visit to the Dental College and found information given by the Managing Director wrong. He found many works, including interiors and seating, in the auditorium incomplete. The Site Manager informed the Chief Minister that it will take at least 15 days more to complete interiors of the complex. The complex was scheduled to be completed on May 30, 2009 but Chief Minister during his surprise visit today found it incomplete despite MD’s assurance at the high-level meeting on July 9 that the auditorium complex stands completed in all respects barring installation of audio visual equipment. It may be recalled that Chief Minister has time and again stressed on the timely-completion of works driving home to the heads of the implementing agencies that unnecessary delays in completion of works would not be tolerated. In various review meetings, Mr. Abdullah even re-fixed timeframes for completion of various works after giving due weightage to the explanations given by the heads of executing agencies. However, he made it amply clear that laxities on this count would not be accepted. According to the Government Order issued by General Administration Department (GAD) today, MD, JKPCC, Mr. Dalip Thusoo has been attached to GAD pending disciplinary action. The Chief Engineer, R&B, Kashmir, will hold charge of the post of Managing Director, JKPCC in addition to his own duties till further orders.
