| BJP decries govt for its failure to provide water, electricity to Jammuties | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: Bhartiya Janta Party has criticized the government for its failure to provide the people of Jammu the basic needs like water and electricity in prevailing hot season.
BJP State President and Jammu East MLA Ashok khajuria was addressing the people after installing a water cooler in memory of renowned artist and social worker Begum Nargis Sitara Bukhari who left for her heavenly abode a few days ago.
He said that people are made to suffer by imposing unscheduled power cuts and irregular supply of drinking water which has virtually made the life of the people very hard.
He said electricity and water are the two most important requirements in summers and the government has failed to ensure their regular supply which proves the inability of the government.
He said how unfortunate it is that the inhabitants of the ward, who are supplied electricity from feeder WZ1 and feeder WZ2, are requesting for installation of electronic meters but the department is adopting delay tactics for the reasons best known to the PDD officials and the concerned minister.
He said the state has very high potentials of power production and drinking water but non-seriousness on part of the successive governments here has resulted into sufferings of the people.
He demanded effective steps for ensuring regular supply of electricity and drinking water. He, assured the local residents that the funds for improving road from Rajinder Bazar to Talab Khatikan Masjid has been provided by him from his CDF and the work will be undertaken after the digging of the roads by ERA and NBCC is completed.
He was accompanied by senior journalist Sohail Qazmi and Ward No. 5 Corporator Rajesh Gupta.
